Day 01: Toronto/Niagara Falls – 130 KM

Arrive Toronto’s Pearson International Airport
Pick up vehicle from car rental agency
Proceed to one of Canada’s most spectacular sights Niagara Falls.
On arrival, check in at hotel.

Day 02: Niagara Falls/Toronto – 130 KM

After breakfast, with your included Niagara Falls Adventure Pass, experience the Maid of the Mist, Journey behind the fall, Niagara's Fury and White Water Walk.
Late afternoon checkout of hotel and proceed to Toronto.
The remainder of the day is at leisure to explore the cultural, entertainment and financial capital of Canada
overnight in Toronto.

Day 03: Toronto

After breakfast the day is free to discover Toronto at your own pace.
Visit impressive city landmarks such as the Rogers Centre, explore the harbour front district, take a harbour cruise, or perhaps find a shopping bargain at Eaton Centre.
Included today is admission to the CN Tower – an express glass elevator whisks you up to the observation lounge of this 553m monument of engineering

Day 04: Toronto/Ottawa – 450 KM

Drive east to Rockport.

Toronto

Toronto, the most multiculturally diverse city on the planet: over 140 languages are spoken. At the height of summer, humid downtown neighborhoods become an endless convergence of patios bursting at the seams: alfresco is the way to drink and dine. Locals lap up every last drop of sunshine, beer or martini while they can.

Winter in Toronto, however, can be a real drag. Things get messy on the web of unacceptably congested highways. An archaic public transit system groans under the weight of a growing population and struggles to adequately serve the ever-widening boundaries of the urban explosion. At the time of writing, when the large-scale construction of infrastructure to support Toronto's insatiable expansion should have long since begun, only a vague vision for the future of public transportation was apparent and but a handful of long-overdue essential projects had begun.

Quebec

The crown jewel of French Canada, Québec City is one of North America’s oldest and most magnificent settlements. Its picturesque Old Town is a Unesco World Heritage site, a living museum of narrow cobblestone streets, 17th- and 18th-century houses and soaring church spires, with the splendid Château Frontenac towering above it all. There’s more than a glimmer of Old Europe in its classic bistros, sidewalk cafes and manicured squares.

You can get a taste of the city in a single day, but linger at least a weekend if you can. The city’s compact size makes it ideal for walking, and it shines brightest when you slow down.

The main focus of your visit should be the Old Town, split between the Haute Ville (Upper Town), perched above the St Lawrence River on the Cap Diamant cliffs, and the Basse Ville (Lower Town), where Samuel de Champlain established the first French foothold in 1608. The Old Town is packed with museums, mansard-roofed houses and cobblestone streets just begging to be explored.

Outside the walls, through the historic town gates of Porte St-Louis and Porte St-Jean, four additional neighborhoods are easily accessible: St-Jean Baptiste, Colline Parlementaire, Montcalm and St-Roch, each boasting wonderful restaurants, shopping and nightlife. Also noteworthy here are the vast Plains of Abraham, where the British defeated the French in 1759; nowadays enshrined as a national park, this area offers superb recreational opportunities.

Québec City goes to great lengths to entertain visitors. All summer long, musicians, acrobats and actors in period costume take to the streets, while fantastic festivals fill the air with fireworks and song. In the coldest months of January and February, Québec’s Winter Carnival is arguably the biggest and most colorful winter festival around. Fall and spring bring beautiful foliage, dramatically reduced prices and thinner crowds.

Montreal

Few cities can compete with Montréal’s mouthwatering mix of food, festivals and fun-centric living.

City of Design

Montréal is a slice of old Europe in a pie of contemporary design. A day’s wander might take in the photogenic 18th-century facades of Old Montréal before a cycling tour of the lovely Canal de Lachine, or take in the glittering shops and restaurants of downtown and ending at the inviting terraced cafes of Plateau Mont-Royal. The architectural sweep of the city takes in a wealth of heritage churches such as the breathtaking Basilique Notre-Dame, as well as 20th-century icons like the Stade Olympique and Habitat 67.

I was born and raised in Montréal, but after living in Tokyo I’m always astonished at the breadth of culture in my hometown. Despite its modest size, Montréal packs a mighty foodie punch with its myriad restaurants and devotion to good food. I could spend hours wandering through the Marché Jean-Talon and then devouring its offerings at restaurants like Kitchen Galerie, or simply spending a warm summer evening drinking on a rooftop patio in Old Montréal. But if I were exiled to a desert island, I would insist on bringing as many bagels from St-Viateur Bagel as possible.

Festivals Galore

Toronto may be Canada’s economic capital, but Montréal remains the country’s cultural juggernaut, with some 250 theater and dance companies, over 90 festivals and a fascinating medley of neighborhoods where artists, writers and musicians have helped cement the city’s reputation as a great arts center. The Festival International de Jazz de Montréal is the headline event, followed by parties dedicated to world cinema, comedy and gay pride. There’s truly something for everyone at all times of the year.

Winter Wonderland

Montréal does get some long, cold winters. But the natives have learned to make the best of them, cheering on local hockey legends Les Canadiens de Montréal, tobogganing in Parc du Mont-Royal, building ice hotels by the St Lawrence River and skiing at many fine resorts nearby. If you can’t bear the chill, just wander through the underground city and surface at the nearest pub.

Cuisine Capital

Blessed with one of the most exciting food scenes in North America, Montréal brims with temples dedicated to Kamouraska lamb, Arctic char and, of course, poutine (fries smothered in cheese curds and gravy). You’ll find irresistible patisseries, English pubs, 80-year-old Jewish delis and magnificent food markets reminiscent of Paris. There are hipster bars with bowling alleys and innumerable cafes in which to while away a lazy afternoon. And above all, there are the best bagels on the planet.
